YOUR RESPONSE to Media

Module 3 explores how advertising, influencers, and digital media shape what we want, buy, and believe. Rather than telling you to avoid advertising or distrust all influencers, this module helps you recognize the techniques used to capture attention, create desire, and influence purchasing decisions. By understanding these strategies, you can pause, reflect, and decide what genuinely aligns with your needs and values.

Through practical examples, interactive activities, and short reflective exercises, you will learn how advertising appeals to emotions, identity, and social belonging. The module also examines the difference between positive influencers who promote transparency and responsibility, and manipulative practices that rely on hidden sponsorships, unrealistic portrayals, or pressure to consume.
